COMPASS Mentoring Program

Welcome to COMPASS Mentoring Program

Launched in 2020, this year-long, identity-first program matches undergraduate and graduate students with volunteer mentors/femtors/themtors within the Caltech community. Matches are based on shared interests, priorities and identities. Alumni, faculty, postdoctoral fellows and staff serve as mentors/femtors/themtors to provide insights, counsel and support to enhance the student experience at the Institute.

Program Overview

Eligibility:

Mentee/Femtee/Themtee

Must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate Caltech student
Must commit to a minimum of eight meetings (either virtual or in-person) during the academic year

Mentor/Femtor/Themtor

Must be a Caltech faculty member, postdoctoral fellow, staff member, alumni or affiliate
Graduate students (G3 and above) may serve as mentors/femtors/themtors
Must commit to a minimum of eight meetings (either virtual or in-person) during the academic year

Application Timeline:

September 26 – Application opens
October 21 – Application closes
October 25 – Notifications released on a rolling basis
Week of November 14 – Orientation Dinner
